Saturday morning, the day of the festival. The sun is out. On the way to the square, you and Lucía stop at the old toy shop. Frau Lehmann stands in the doorway.
CarmenBuenos días. ¿Vais a la fiesta?
Good morning. Are you going to the festival?
Lucía¡Sí! Javier toca esta noche.
Yes! Javier plays tonight.
Carmen¿Javier? Pasad. Tengo una historia.
Javier? Come in. I have a story.
Inside, the shop is full of old toys. Frau Lehmann sits down behind the counter and takes off her glasses.

CarmenSí. Elvira y yo. Cantamos las dos.

CarmenPor la noche llegan sus padres. Con una trompeta nueva.
In the evening his parents arrive. With a new trumpet.

CarmenSe la devuelve a Elvira. Y ella la guarda.
He gives it back to Elvira. And she keeps it.

Grandma keeps everything!
Frau Lehmann puts her glasses back on and looks out at the sunny street. On the square, a stage is going up.
CarmenHoy vuelve al escenario. Dieciocho años después.
Today he returns to the stage. Eighteen years later.
