Real texts for reading, listening, and playing along

LernLaterne publishes free language-learning texts on the web: a large catalog of short German stories with audio, many dialogs, and branching interactive stories with exercises and optional PDFs. Material is grouped by CEFR levels A1–B2 and wired to a learner vocabulary index with translations and in-text lookups.

German is the richest section today; Swiss High German and English appear where the target language calls for them. Use it beside class, tutoring, or solo study — linear reading, guided exercises, or choice-driven scenes — without ads on the reader pages.

About me

Dominik

I teach German as a foreign language and hold degrees in cognitive science and in language technology with foreign-language didactics; that mix keeps the site grounded in both learner psychology and practical corpus-style tooling.

I started LernLaterne while restructuring my own study notes into shareable lessons: transparent imprint, minimal tracking, and content I actually use with students — iterated in public as the library grows.

I hope the fruits of this work are enjoyable and bring you some joy and success in learning.
