The regular present and its negative

For most actions, use an ում form and a form of to be: քնում եմ means I sleep or I am sleeping. Նվագում է means he/she plays an instrument. The same present covers now and routines.

In the neutral negative, the negative auxiliary comes before the ում form: չեմ քնում, չես քնում, չի քնում, չենք քնում, չեք քնում, չեն քնում. For an action use third-person չի, although a negative description uses չէ.

Ուզում եմ քնել combines I want with the dictionary verb քնել. Keep the final լ. For now Վաղը, լա՞վ is a natural way to negotiate tomorrow without learning a future paradigm.

• Ես քնում եմ։I sleep.

• Ես չեմ քնում։I do not sleep.

• Արամը չի քնում։Aram does not sleep.
