Unit 7 · ო, უ and ნ · Meet

ო, უ and ნ

Complete the five vowels and read lion, glass and zero.

About this unit

Two more vowels complete the set, and ნ adds n.

  • ოlion
    a plain o
    ლომი · lion
  • უzero
    oo, as in “moon”
    ნული · zero
  • ნ
    n, as in “no”
    მინა · glass (material)

Now you know all five vowels: ა ე ი ო უ. Each one is always written and always clear.

Reading tips

The five vowels ა ე ი ო უ stay clear. Compare the line position and opening of ო and უ rather than treating every rounded letter as the same shape.

Use a Georgian keyboard

The guided course has on-screen letters in logical order. A Georgian keyboard, often with a phonetic Latin-key mapping, is optional. Names and sentences use ordinary Mkhedruli, not a capital first letter. Mtavruli is an all-capital style for whole headings.
