Describing places
Wo bist du? With place prepositions like in, auf, an, unter, neben, and vor you describe locations — practical for travel, addresses, and directions.

When you want to say where something is, you need a place preposition. You ask with Wo? and answer with the preposition:
Wo liegt das Buch? — Das Buch liegt auf dem Tisch.
Wo schläft die Katze? — Die Katze schläft unter dem Stuhl.
Important prepositions are in, auf, an, unter, neben, and vor.
