In German there are two words for negation:nicht and kein.
kein negates a noun with ein or without an article: Ich habe ein Auto → Ich habe kein Auto.kein takes the same endings as ein:kein,keine,kein, in the plural keine.
nicht negates everything else — a verb, an adjective, a name or a noun with der/die/das:Ich arbeite nicht.Das ist nicht schön.
