Stative passive
The stative passive describes a state — the result of an action. You form it with sein and the past participle:Die Tür ist geöffnet.
Do not confuse it with the process passive. The process passive with werden describes a process that is happening right now: Die Tür wird geöffnet. — Die Tür ist geöffnet.
Process — werden + past participle, something is happening now: Das Fenster wird repariert.
State — sein + past participle, the result remains: Das Fenster ist repariert.

Passive paraphrases
Passive paraphrases express a passive meaning withoutwerden. They often say that something is possible.
The most important forms:
sich lassen + infinitive — something can be done: Das Problem lässt sich lösen.
sein + zu + infinitive — something must or can be done: Die Aufgabe ist zu erledigen.
Adjective in -bar — something can be done: Das Problem ist lösbar.
man + active verb — a general statement: Man kann das Problem lösen.
All four sentences mean almost the same: Das Problem kann gelöst werden.
