Two-part connectors consist of two parts. Both parts belong together and appear in the same sentence.

There are three important pairs:
1. entweder … oder — you name two options: Wir fahren entweder nach Berlin oder nach Köln.
2. sowohl … als auch — both parts apply together: Sie spricht sowohl Deutsch als auch Englisch.
3. weder … noch — you negate both parts: Er trinkt weder Kaffee noch Tee.

The second part of sowohl … als auch has two words — als auch: Wir besuchen sowohl Wien als auch Salzburg.
