Malam hari. Budi tinggal di atas. Apartemennya kecil, tapi bagus.

His phone rings. On the screen it says: Mama.

It's his mum calling. She lives far away.
BudiHalo? Oh, Bu! Selamat malam!

Halo, Budi! Apa kabar?

He puts the phone down and looks at the trumpet for a long time.
- Budi
Pekerjaan yang benar... Miko, kamu juga tidak punya pekerjaan.
A real job... Miko, you don't have a job either.
Miko tidur. Dia bos di sini. Dia tidak perlu pekerjaan.
Miko is asleep. He's the boss here. He doesn't need a job.
A knock. Two friends come in: Arif with a double bass in a big case, and Lina with a small drum under her arm.
Seseorang membuka pintu. Arif dan Lina datang. Mereka teman Budi.
Somebody opens the door. Arif and Lina arrive. They are Budi's friends.

Halo, Budi! Kami di sini!
Hi, Budi! We're here!
- Budi
Halo! Masuk! Kalian lapar?
Hi! Come in! Are you hungry?
- Lina
Ya, sangat lapar. Tapi musik dulu!
Yes, very. But first: music!
Budi, Arif, dan Lina punya grup musik. Mereka main pada sore dan malam hari.
Budi, Arif and Lina have a band. They play in the evening and at night.
- Budi
Teman-teman, saya punya lagu baru.
Friends, I've got a new song.
Budi main. Arif dan Lina duduk di tempat tidur dan melihat.
Budi plays. Arif and Lina sit on the bed and watch.

BudiSaya ingin punya grup musik besar. Kami main setiap malam. Semua orang senang.
My dream is a big band. We play every evening, and everyone is happy.

Dan ibu kamu? Apa katanya?
And your mum? What does she say?
- Budi
Kata Ibu, saya perlu pekerjaan yang benar. Tapi saya senang.
Mum says: you need a real job. But I'm happy.
- Lina
Kami juga senang. Ayo main!
We're happy too. Let's play!
Midnight. Downstairs a light goes on, and somebody comes up the stairs in slippers.
Permisi... Kalian main? Sekarang? Ini tengah malam!
Excuse me... You're playing? Now? It's midnight!

Oh, maaf! Kami berhenti sekarang!
