Lithuanian verbs change their ending for the person, as does: , , . The dictionary form of a verb, the infinitive, ends in -ti: , to play. In the present tense there are three types of verb. Each type is named after the ending of its 3rd person singular (he, she, it): -a, -i or -o.

The , form is also the plural (they): , , . The form always ends in -u. The type goes by the form, not by the infinitive: ends in -oti, but is an -a verb.
Listen to where the stress falls. In many verbs it jumps to the ending in the and forms: is gy-VE-na, but is gy-ve-NU and gy-ve-NI. (MIE-ga) becomes (mie-GU), (ŽI-no) becomes (ži-NAU). With you can hear the difference: TU-ri is he has, tu-RI is you have. Other verbs keep the stress where it is: , , (GRO-ja, GRO-ju, GRO-ji). The spelling never shows the stress, so let the clips guide you.
