ۀ
Read the unwritten linker and type Persian half-spaces.
About this unit
Two features that you read and type but rarely see: the linking -e and the half-space.
- ۀfinal -e plus ezafe -yeخانۀ من · my house
i
A variant of final ه with an ezafe sign; not a new basic alphabet letter.
One letter, several shapes
A letter's shape depends on its neighbours. At the start it joins only the next letter, in the middle both neighbours, at the end only the letter before it.
A dash means the letter never joins the next letter: at the start of a word it looks as when alone, in the middle as at the end.
| You see | You read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| کتاب من | ketāb-e man | the linking -e is not written |
| خانۀ من | khāne-ye man | ۀ shows the link after -e |
| کتابها | ketābhā | a half-space: no join, no gap |
In the writing tasks, the half-space has its own key.

Ezafe links words: کتاب من is read ketāb-e man. The -e is normally unwritten. After final -e, print can show a small hamza-like sign: خانۀ من, also written خانهٔ من. These are spelling conventions, not a new basic Persian letter.
The zero-width non-joiner (nim-fāsele) in کتابها and میروم breaks joining without making a full word space. Use the explicit half-space tile. Ordinary spaces still separate words.
