Read punctuation and recognise familiar Persian in another style.
About this unit
Read Persian punctuation, recognise known words in Nastaliq, and type Persian letters.
- Punctuation is turned around: ، comma, ؟ question mark, ؛ semicolon.
- Nastaliq slopes and stacks the letters; the spelling stays the same.
- Type Persian ی and ک, and use the half-space key between word parts.

The usual course cards use a clear modern print font. Here the same known words appear in Nastaliq, a style used in Persian calligraphy, signs and book covers. Its diagonal joins and hanging groups change a word’s silhouette without changing its spelling. Read the familiar word before opening sound support.
Use the Persian standard keyboard or course tiles. Type Persian ی and ک; equivalent imported Arabic ي and ك are normalised. Use the half-space (ZWNJ) between appropriate word parts. Latin labels and numbers retain their own reading order inside Persian text.
