Unit 27 · Read everyday signs · Meet

Read everyday signs

Find an entrance, exit, pharmacy and metro.

About this unit

Public signs are often printed in capitals. Read the whole sign before you listen to it.

  • One extra letter can change where you go.
  • The icon on a sign is a hint; the word gives the answer.
  • Read long words in groups: АП-ТЕ-КА.

Use a Russian keyboard

The standard Russian layout is ЙЦУКЕН. All guided writing also works with on-screen tiles. Type ё with its own key when practising ё; outside that task е is a common printed replacement. Teaching stress accents are optional input, not extra letters.
