The traditional inventory contains 44 consonant letters; ฃ and ฅ are obsolete in ordinary spelling, leaving 42 in use. The extra letters mainly share sounds with ones you already know. For this reference unit, take breaks after each row of cards.

Bookmark the full alphabet shelf. Mid class: ก จ ฎ ฏ ด ต บ ป อ. High class: ข ฃ ฉ ฐ ถ ผ ฝ ศ ษ ส ห. All remaining consonants are low class.

You do not need to memorise every traditional letter name to read a course. Recognise the shape, initial sound, class, and common final sound instead.
