Tune your ear
Hear tone, a puff of air and vowel length with labelled models.
About this unit
Thai tells words apart by three things English and German speakers easily miss: the tune of a syllable, a puff of air after a consonant, and how long a vowel lasts.
Each game first plays labelled models. Listen as often as you like, then decide which one the mystery sound is. After each answer you get a short explanation. There is no failure state.
Try the puff with your hand: hold your palm in front of your mouth and say กา, then คา. You feel air only on the second.
