Thai runs left to right and has no capital letters. Start with sounds, not letter names or tone-class labels. Tap each sign, then play the whole words. Consonant clips have a helper vowel; it is not an extra vowel when you read a word.
ก starts with a plain k sound, with little puff of air. ม starts with m. า spells a long aa after a consonant: ก + า → กา; ม + า → มา. กา means crow; มา means come.
Thai words have tones. For now copy the recordings: both กา and มา have a level mid tone. Later you will learn to hear all five tones and predict them from spelling.
