ต · t · Plain t, with little puff of air.

น · n

Join each new initial to the long vowel า. ตา is eye; นา is rice field. In นาน, final น closes the syllable with n. Say the whole word without adding a vowel after that final n.

The same word can have more than one meaning. ตา can also mean maternal grandfather; in our picture it means eye. You learn vocabulary in context, not from a shape alone.
