Quantities and consonant changes

Quantities and consonant changes

After a quantity, use a singular noun: . Count the thing without a plural suffix. means many apples.

Some nouns soften their final p, , t, k before a vowel suffix: kitap → kitabı, ağaç → ağacı, kanat → kanadı, koltuk → koltuğu. This is a lexical pattern, not a change to every noun.

Possession is still or . In the shop the whole bill is . means two hundred; there is no linking word.
