Ayşe is asleep, Tekir is asleep. Only Emre, upstairs, is still playing, very quietly.
Ama Zeynep uyanık. Kafede.
But Zeynep is already up. She's already in the café.
ZeynepGünaydın, kafem! Yemek yapma vakti.
Good morning, my café! Time to make food.
Zeynep ekmek ve kek yapıyor. Buzdolabında otuz yumurta, çok süt ve tereyağı var.
Zeynep makes bread and cake. There are thirty eggs, plenty of milk and butter in the fridge.
Fırında kek var. Çok güzel.
In the oven: her cake. It's very good.
Six o'clock. The phone rings. Only one person calls at this hour.
Sabah altıda telefon çalıyor.
At six in the morning the phone rings.

Seven o'clock. Zeynep opens the café. Outside, people are already waiting.
Zeynep yedide kapıyı açıyor. İnsanlar kapıda bekliyor.
At seven Zeynep opens the door. People are already waiting there.

Good morning! Come in, come in!

Emre comes in first. He plays all night, and he's very tired.
EmreGünaydın, Zeynep... Çay, lütfen. Sadece çay.
Morning, Zeynep... Tea, please. Just tea.
ZeynepPeki, Emre. Aç değilsin, yorgunsun. İşte büyük bir fincan çay.
All right, Emre. You're not hungry, you're tired. Here's a big cup of tea.
Zeynep herkesin siparişini biliyor. Ayşe Hanım ona her şeyi söylüyor.
Zeynep knows what everybody wants. Ayşe tells her everything.
Then Ayşe comes in, with Elif on her way to school.

Günaydın, Ayşe Hanım! Merhaba, Elif! Ne istersiniz?
Good morning, Ayşe Hanım! Hi, Elif! What would you two like?
AyşeBana şekersiz siyah çay.
Black tea for me, no sugar.
ElifBana krep! On krep!
And pancakes for me! Ten pancakes!
AyşeElif! On değil. İki.
Elif! Not ten. Two.

İki tereyağlı krep, bir fincan süt. Tekir için küçük bir krep.
Two pancakes with butter and a cup of milk. And one small pancake for Tekir.
Tekir sandalyede oturuyor. Krepleri çok seviyor.
Tekir is already sitting on a chair. He loves pancakes.
Eight o'clock. The café is full. A woman in a smart grey coat hurries in, her phone in her hand.

Bir kahve, lütfen! Çabuk! Acelem var.
A coffee, please! Quickly! I'm in a hurry.
- Zeynep
Günaydın! Sütlü mü? Şekerli mi?
Good morning! Coffee with milk? With sugar?
- Moteris
Sütsüz. Şekersiz. Kek de yok! Aç değilim.
No milk. No sugar. And no cake! I'm not hungry.
Aç değilim. Zeynep bu sözü sevmiyor.
"I'm not hungry." Zeynep doesn't like that at all.
- Zeynep
Aç değil misiniz? Ama yorgunsunuz. İşte kahveniz. Kek de benden.
You're not hungry? But you're very tired. Here's your coffee. And the cake is on me.

Hayır, teşekkür ederim! Vaktim yok. Kahve kaç lira?
No, thank you! I don't have time. How much is the coffee?
- Zeynep
Kırk lira. Kek bedava.
Forty lira. The cake is free.
The woman looks at the cake. She takes one bite. Then another.
MoterisÇok güzel! Bir tane daha alabilir miyim?
Mmm... I really like it! Can I have another one?
- Zeynep
Tabii! Oturun, lütfen.
Of course! Sit down, please.
Kadın oturuyor. Yiyor. Artık yorgun değil.
And she sits. And eats. And she isn't tired any more.
Evening. The last guest has gone. Zeynep counts the money, and Tekir sits in the café window.
Akşam. Kafe boş.
Evening. The café is empty.

Bugün seksen insan! Herkese kek var.
Eighty people today! And everybody gets cake.
Telefon yine çalıyor. Zeynep biliyor: Anneannesi.
The phone rings again. Zeynep already knows: it's Grandma.
